1. Compliance & General Philosophy
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, TuitionHub operates as both a data controller and a data processor. We gather and process sensitive personal data solely for facilitating educational services, verified tutor checks, and secure payment processing.
2. Parent Consent & Learner Profiles
To protect minor learners, TuitionHub requires absolute parental consent. An account for a learner under the age of 18 must be created and linked directly to a parent account. The parent remains the legal owner of the child's data, study records, and transaction logs.
3. Data We Collect
- Parents & Teachers: Full name, verified email, telephone number, and login credentials.
- Teachers: TSC certification, national identification documents, and academic degree certifications.
- Learners: Profile names and grade/curriculum specifications.
- Transactions: M-Pesa transaction reference codes and invoice statuses. We never store credit card CVV details or M-Pesa PIN numbers.
4. User Rights
Users hold the right to request data access, rectification, and complete account deletion (the "Right to be Forgotten"). If you wish to delete your account or linked child accounts, please send a deletion request through your dashboard support channel.
